Moving in and getting to know each other

Since I have no real life, I figured I’d start a mini-series based on my real life - inside The Sims 2 computer game. Yes, I’m a geek, we know this.

My goal is to update the story weekly. The premise is simple: The starting characters are me and Josh, and we’ve just bought a home. I will use no cheats. I have to actually earn money. If I die, I die. Should be fun to see where it leads our virtual selves!

That’s us! Aren’t we cute? My hair is technically more red than blonde right now, but let’s just pretend all the dye is already gone.

This is the home we were able to afford. I think it’s quite nice for a starter!

The inside is a bit… sparse. And pink. Which Josh probably hates.

I used the last of our money - literally all but $16 - to buy some necessities, like a bookcase and sink. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have enough money to redecorate.

When we’re first teleported dropped off by the taxi, we almost don’t notice each other!

But then Josh comes over to say hi. Obviously the small amount of facial hair he’s able to grow is turning me on, but he’s just a bit awkward. See him pulling up his pants? That’s because he’s SO SKINNY.

We go inside, and I make us some cereal for breakfast, since I can’t actually cook yet. True to real life, I wolf it down like a hungry Keira Knightley aboard the Black Pearl, while Josh just stares at me and his food. That boy never eats.

I decided to study Cleaning, since, you know, we can’t afford a maid yet. While I was doing that, Josh looked for a job in the paper. I mean, $16 will only buy so much cereal and electricity. The only available positions were in the military, music, and law enforcement tracks, none of which interest Josh. We’ll look again tomorrow.

Some neighbors came to welcome us to the ‘hood. Being the nice person I am, I greeted them, but then they all invited themselves into our new house. This bitch was trying to get between me and my man. Josh doesn’t even realize how wanted he is, while I am seething with rage on the inside.

I finally kicked out all the rude strangers, and tried to get to know Josh. True to real life, he was awkward and nervous around me.

After several hours of watching TV and me doing all the talking, Josh was comfortable enough to hug me. I felt a bit fluttery inside!

The next thing I knew, he was holding my hands! That boy moves faster than I thought.

That’s it for this week. Remember, there’s only one bed in the house. So where did each of us sleep that night? Tune in next time…
