Marcos Siega, I’m disappointed

I got so excited when I found out Paramore was shooting a new video for “That’s What You Get” - a tie with “When It Rains” for my favorite song off the Riot! album. I was more excited when I found out Marcos Siega was directing it. This man has quite the music video resume. We’re talkin’ real gems, like Blink-182’s “All The Small Things” and All-American Rejects’ “Dirty Little Secret.” But then he goes and does this to me.

What a piece of shit. Well, I shouldn’t say that. It has a lot of potential to be great with a little editing. I don’t know what Siega was thinking with the whole “boy and girl walk down street and lie together on bed” thing. It’s an unnecessary storyline you can’t even follow because even THAT part is poorly edited. Even if it’s been done before, this video should’ve just been a hanging-out video. Cut out the couple shit, and stick to the indoor performance and Hayley singing to the group of friends in the backyard. That would’ve been fabulous. I’m quite disappointed. Hey, Paramore, if you want a re-do (hey, U2 re-did “One” three times!), hit me up. I could pitch something for you.

On a side note, if I were still a fresh young teenager with a need to copy my style from someone else, Hayley would probably be my first choice for idol. That girl is just so damn cute. And sweet. I had the good fortune to meet the whole band at last summer’s Warped Tour, and get autographs and shizz. If only I could’ve seen them perform. Maybe this year? If I’m not too poor and sunburnt?
