Give me work! I WANT IT!

I really need to start making some money again. My savings account magically dropped about $900 from what I thought I had last week. I suppose it’s all those textbooks, paying the parking garage ticket from when Mom and Josh stayed for a few days, buying groceries where 72 slices of cheese is $14.79 at the cheap store…
Fortunately, I have my AmericaReads orientation this Friday, and soon after that I should start getting some tutoring hours in during the week at $10/hour. Jennifer also said she thinks at least two of the teams on the kids’ soccer league are interested in purchasing DVDs from me, so that would be at least $260-$380 extra. I’m answering all the Craigs’ List ads I can for people looking for photographers, videographers, whatever, but no responses yet. I just made a new resume and I’m going to skip class this morning to work on putting together a reel, because that’s what everyone wants.
Last night on the bus home from class, I was sitting next to a girl wearing a knee-length red dress. I looked down, and her legs clearly had not been shaven in maybe… ever. Or at least six months. I looked up at the rest of her (as she was talking on her cell phone and completely oblivious to the rest of the world). She was cute, had nice curly blonde hair, was dressed nicely, and was even wearing a face full of makeup. So this whole not-shaving-the-legs thing baffled me. It’s obviously not because she doesn’t care, because if she didn’t, she wouldn’t be wearing makeup and her hair would’ve been frizzy.
In my experience, girls who don’t shave their legs when they’re showing in public are generally either 1) smelly hippies, or 2) ugly feminists who think not shaving their legs will distract others from their ugliness. (Sad, but true.) But this girl appeared to be neither, so I’m just so confused. Why would you fix up your hair and your face if you don’t want to complete the package with a good shaving? Is there another reason for not shaving your legs when you’re trying to be cute that I’ve missed? Please let me know.

Hmm…interesting thing you said there about looking all cute but not shaving her legs. Well, I know for me I just get too swamped with stuff, but don’t want to go out looking like a scruff. Usually I wear pants though if I can’t shave or don’t have the time too. Interesting point you made though. Or maybe her leg hair grows back real fast? The minute I shave mine is prickly. You can’t see it but you can’t feel it. And I’m too afraid to wax, ha ha ha. Well love your blog anyway! =]
